We built the donation tracker we wanted to use.
ItsDeducted is an independent AI-powered donation tracking app for noncash charitable donations. It turns photos and item lists into organized donation records with estimated fair market values, charity details, and tax-time exports.
A shutdown exposed a bigger problem.
We were TurboTax ItsDeductible users ourselves. When Intuit shut the service down on October 21, 2025, the immediate problem was obvious: longtime users needed a replacement. But the deeper problem had been there for years.
Most donation tools still started from the wrong place. Search for one item. Hope the catalog has it. Choose a condition. Repeat. Or rebuild everything in a spreadsheet after the donation has already left the house.
We wanted a workflow that starts with the donation as it really exists: a pile of clothes, a box of housewares, a photo on your phone, or an old list you already spent time creating.

Modern tools. Human review. Portable records.
The product is built around a few practical principles that matter more to us than adding features for their own sake.
Capture first
Real donations start as bags, boxes, photos, and lists—not perfect spreadsheets. The workflow should meet people where they already are.
Review stays with you
AI can reduce repetitive work, but it should not replace judgment. Item details and estimated values stay reviewable before the record is finalized.
Smarter valuation support
ItsDeducted combines resale data and AI-assisted analysis to suggest estimated fair market values quickly and consistently across donated goods.
Your records stay portable
A product can change. Your history should not disappear with it. ItsDeducted supports exports so your donation records do not live in a dead end.

The workflow follows the story.
ItsDeducted is not built around the assumption that every donation starts as a neat itemized list. You can start with a photo, import an existing list, or search manually when that is the fastest option. The Hybrid Valuation Engine helps suggest estimated fair market values while keeping review in the loop.
We are also building the evidence base around noncash donations.
ItsDeducted Research analyzes anonymized, aggregated platform data to understand how people document donated goods, which categories appear most often, and how estimated fair market values vary across observed records. The methodology and limitations are published alongside the findings so the numbers can be interpreted in context.
Research findings describe activity inside the ItsDeducted platform dataset. They are not a probability sample of all U.S. donors, IRS-set values, or professional appraisals.
Independent by design. Clear about the limits.
ItsDeducted is built by a small software team with decades of experience and firsthand history using TurboTax ItsDeductible. That user perspective shaped the product, but it also shapes what we do not claim.
We want the product to feel calm, organized, modern, and useful—not like a black box that asks you to trust an unexplained number.

Who built ItsDeducted?
ItsDeducted is built by a small independent software team with decades of software experience. The team includes former TurboTax ItsDeductible users, and that firsthand experience shaped the product direction.
Why was ItsDeducted created?
ItsDeducted was created to make donation recordkeeping faster and easier, particularly after TurboTax ItsDeductible shut down on October 21, 2025. Instead of rebuilding every donation item by item, ItsDeducted lets people start from photos, lists, or search and keep the resulting records organized.
What makes ItsDeducted different from older donation trackers?
ItsDeducted is capture-first. It can start with a photo or imported list, use AI to help identify donated goods and suggest estimated fair market values, and then keep charity details, dates, notes, images, and exports connected to the donation record.
How does ItsDeducted use AI?
ItsDeducted uses AI to help identify donated items and support estimated fair market value suggestions. AI is a helper, not the final authority: users review the item details, condition, and suggested value before relying on the record.
Is ItsDeducted affiliated with Intuit or TurboTax?
No. ItsDeducted is independent and is not affiliated with Intuit, TurboTax, or TurboTax ItsDeductible.
Does ItsDeducted provide tax advice or official IRS values?
No. ItsDeducted provides estimated fair market values and recordkeeping support. It does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice, and its estimates are not IRS-set values or qualified appraisals. For tax rules and documentation thresholds, see the IRS noncash donation rules guide.
How can I get in touch with ItsDeducted?
For questions, support, or product feedback, use the Contact Us form on the website. You can also send feedback directly from within the ItsDeducted app using the Feedback option.
The easiest way to understand ItsDeducted is to use it on one real donation.
Start with a photo or a list, review the item details and estimated fair market values, and keep the finished donation record organized in one place.
